New News

I can't believe it's been weeks since I last posted. Lots of activities these last few weeks, I don't even know where to begin.

Well the beginning I suppose! Since I last posted we began visiting a local church that we've been following through their television ministry for close to a year. So often, when the pastor would make a call out to the television audience, ironically we felt that he was speaking and calling us. I can't say that's true about every call a pastor makes on television broadcasts, but well in this instance it was true!

So about 3 weeks ago we began attending a study series on Wednesday nights on the Power of God. Well it didn't stop there. We decided to attend the Sunday morning service shortly after because the pastor was starting a sermon series on the book of Nehemiah that we got excited about.

Now they've announced their fall programs that will be starting in a few weeks and yes, we want to attend one or two of those. One in particular that we found out too late about last fall that they're offering again.

As for the girls, they rave about the "big church" and ask nearly each day if we get to go to the big church today. New words in their vocabulary since we started visiting? "Bible", "I Jump for Jesus", "Hallelujah". Now I know they've heard all of these before from us, yet something about their classes has made it stick. And OH how nice it is to be able to listen and enjoy a sermon without the little ones tugging and squirming.

Now you may be wondering - so what about your church? Yes, that is the dilemma right now. For many reasons that I couldn't begin to get into. But for the first time in years (wow - I can't believe it's true), we feel happy and united as a family, excited to go off to church and walk out together, a bit more refreshed and just plain content.

So, if you're reading this, send up a little prayer, would you? Just because.

In other news:

  • We celebrated our 11th anniversary last Saturday! Hurray for us!
  • Grandpa gladly took the girls for an afternoon so that we could have a cozy dinner and some time alone.
  • Also went to the state fair and ate very yummy cream puffs ( not good for the WW plan - but could not be passed on!), big pickles, fair dogs - and many more fair goodies. MMMMM!
