"Jesus watch over us through the night as we sleep.." is part of our nighttime prayers. You never know how the little ones interpret what you say each night until they just lay it out.
Conversation between Girlie 1 and Girlie 2 overhead:
Girlie 1: Jesus sleeps with us at night.
Girlie 2: Yeah, God takes care of us when we sleep.
Girlie 1: God doesn't sleep. He stays up all night. Jesus sleeps all the time.
Girlie 2: Jesus is a sleepy head.
!!
We did have a conversation after that to discuss what that line really means to us.
