Got Talents?

We were all gifted with strengths, abilities, or what the Bible would call  talents.   Beautiful lights to share with the world, we were designed to flourish in certain areas.

There are those in life at the 5 talent level, and those at the 2 talent level.  And instead of treasuring, appreciating and making the most of those two talents we were blessed with, we often are consumed with those with 5 talents.  We admire, covet,  and can even be envious of the talents or number of talents others have been given.

Meanwhile, the God given dreams and desires of your heart, for which you were specifically crafted, go neglected and lose their brilliance.  All the potential, all the beauty, the great and wondrous things God packed inside of you when He created you go unrealized.  The glory your life could bring to Him never seen.

This weekend's sermon asked the question:

Do you use what God gave you?

Is there something that you do well that God is urging you to step into?  What ministry, act, or service does he want to develop through you?  What lives will be touched by you holding your talent before you?  What is that one thing that you would do if you knew you wouldn't fail?  Are you too afraid to fail to try?

Let me be the person
that you would desire
A light to be seen
Breakdown our pride
And all the walls
we built up inside
Our earthly crowns
And all our desires
We lay at your feet

With Everything.  If you want to live your best life, then use your talents with everything you have.  Pursue your dreams with purpose.  Step out and trust God to meet you halfway, and fuel the life you were meant to live.

Use what God gave you.
